What is the difference between a 3-way and a 4-way system?
A 3-way system uses separate speaker drivers for low, mid, and high frequencies. In contrast, a 4-way system includes an additional speaker driver for upper-low frequencies (the Kick or the Upper bass), enhancing sound accuracy, especially for bass-heavy music and events.
How long will it take to get my orders?
Delivery times depend on the type of order and your location. For orders shipped via UPS within Europe, delivery typically takes around 4 working days, but this may vary depending on your location. For the USA and the UK, delivery may take 3–4 additional working days.
For sound system orders, the manufacturing process requires approximately 8–12 weeks, depending on current demand. Once completed, systems are shipped on pallets, with delivery within Europe taking 2–7 working days.
We provide tracking numbers for all orders so you can monitor your shipment's progress.
Can I upgrade or extend my sound system in the future?
Yes, you can upgrade a 3-way system to a 4-way by adding an extra kick or upper bass to feel the perfect punch in the music. You can also extend the power of either system by purchasing additional subwoofers, upper basses or tops. Please note that upgrades may require additional amplification to ensure optimal performance.
What are the equipment requirements to run an acoustic system?
To operate your acoustic system smoothly, you will need the following key components:
- Laptop/Turntable/CD player
- Preamp or DJ Mixer: Manages and fine-tunes audio signals.
- DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Unit: Optimizes sound quality for different environments and setups.
- Amplifier: Powers the system and drives the speakers.
- Alternatively, amplifiers with integrated DSP system: Please note that we supply amplifiers with integrated DSP systems.
Additionally, ensure you have the appropriate speakon cables to connect amplifier to the acoustic system seamlessly.

How to power the acoustic system?
To ensure optimal performance and protect your sound system, we recommend using an amplifier with an integrated DSP system. This setup allows for full system alignment and ensures drivers are properly limited to prevent damage.
When you purchase our amplifiers from the webshop, full systems come pre-configured with alignment, presets, and limitations to safeguard your sound system.

What is a preamp?
A preamp, or preamplifier, is an essential component for a reggae sound system setup that serves several important functions:
- Signal amplification: It amplifies weak audio signals before they are sent to the main amplifier, boosting the signal to a suitable level for processing.
- Tonal shaping: Preamps offer tonal shaping options, allowing you to fine-tune the audio signal to achieve the desired sound quality.
- Routing and switching: They provide options for routing and switching between different audio sources, making it easier to manage and control the audio signal flow within the system.
- Control: By fine-tuning the audio signal, preamps help ensure a stronger and more robust overall sound.
In summary, a preamp is crucial for optimizing audio performance and enhancing the control over your sound system.
Which preamps can I use for my sound system?
For a 4-Way Sound System (Subwoofer + Kick + Top), we recommend using a 4-Channel preamp. This configuration includes four distinct audio channels (low, upper-low, mid, and high frequencies), with each channel dedicated to a specific frequency range:
- Bass: Very low frequencies
- Kick: Upper-low frequencies
- Mid: Vocals and instruments
- Treble: High frequencies
Proper alignment and presets are crucial for optimal performance. When you choose the VAS Audio preamp, we provide all necessary presets specifically tailored for our 4-Way Sound System, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced audio clarity.

What is a DSP unit and why do I need one?
A Digital Signal Processing (DSP) unit is a crucial component in a sound system that allows for the manipulation of audio signals. Here’s why you need one:
- Audio signal manipulation: DSP technology enables you to adjust the volume and equalization (EQ) of the audio signal.
- Effects application: You can apply various effects, such as reverb and delay, to enhance the audio experience.
- Precise control: It provides precise control over the audio signal, resulting in a more polished and professional sound quality.
- Room acoustics adjustment: A DSP unit helps tailor the sound system to the specific acoustics of a room or venue, ensuring optimal sound for the listener.
In summary, incorporating a DSP unit into your sound system setup can significantly improve the overall audio experience.
Which DSP units can I use?
For a 4-Way Sound System, a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) with at least 4 channels is required to manage the low, low-mid, high-mid, and high-frequency ranges. The number of channels in a DSP unit should align with the specific needs of your sound system and configuration.
More channels in a DSP do not necessarily mean better performance. The key is selecting a unit that matches your system’s requirements. If you plan to upgrade from a 3-way to a 4-way system in the future, investing in a 4-channel DSP now provides additional flexibility and simplifies the transition, as the unit will already have the capacity to process the additional channels.
On our webshop, we offer a versatile 4-input, 8-output DSP unit that supports configurations for 2, 3, 4, 5, and multiple signal sound systems. Additionally, we provide amplifiers with integrated DSP systems, available both separately and within our 4-way system bundles, ensuring comprehensive solutions for any setup.

What cables do I need to run the acoustic system?
To run the acoustic system, you will need the following cables:
- Speakon Cables: Any speakon cable will work with the system. We highly recommend using cables that are at least 10 meters in length for each way (bass, kick, and top).
Additionally, we offer cables within the bundle options of our 4-way systems.
